Summary:
The RN Coordinator, Patient Care for Behavioral Health is a Registered Nurse responsible for orientation and staff development for all nursing personnel. A significant part of the role relates to planning and implementing continuing education programs. The RN Coordinator further contributes to the unit through support of the philosophy, objectives, and educational effort initiated by CHRISTUS Hospital.
Requirements:
A. Education/Skills
Graduate of State Board School of Nursing or equivalent.
BSN preferred
Knowledge of Behavioral/Mental Health Laws
Certification in area of specialty preferred.
B. Experience
Three (3) years' experience in specialty preferred.
Experience with psych patients
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
AHA BLS Certification “ within two (2) weeks of employment
AHA ACLS Certification“ within eight (8) weeks of employment
PALS Certification- within twelve (12) weeks of employment
ANCC Psych Nurse Certification preferred
