About This Role and You The Lab Technician at our Beaumont, TX sulphuric acid production facility oversees the day-to-day activities of the laboratory to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
They support the plant's ISO 9000 Quality system.
The Lab Technician also coordinates SBS lotting and shipments with the customer and is a backup for the Traffic and Inventory Coordinator.
Qualifications Minimum of an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred in a science or related field.
Experience may be substituted.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (Microsoft products).
Preferred:
o 8 years of experience in an industrial laboratory.
o Experience interfacing with customers.
o SAP S4 experience.
Medical Requirement Chemtrade is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the public.
All employees are required to complete and pass their annually held medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
Responsibilities Laboratory tasks (80%):
Analyses product to verify quality Manages lab inventory and creates purchase requisitions Keeps instruments in good repair and orders new equipment, as needed Writes and revises lab procedures, as needed Maintains customer specifications and certificates of analysis Trains new lab employees Prepares and arranges shipment of lab samples Prepares monthly DMR Analyses storm water Introduces new chemicals, as needed, for lab operation Supports plant quality management system (10%):
Communicates with registrar and auditors Maintains corrective/preventive action system Helps schedule internal audits Facilitates quarterly management reviews Other related duties (10%):
