5 Quick Apply Full-time 1 hour ago Full Job Description The 200-room Grand Hotel Spindletop and Event Center Beaumont is looking for a Full Time Maintenance Helper.
The Maintenance Helper will assist with the maintenance items within the interior and exterior of the hotel.
The position entails working both indoors and outdoors.
Outdoor conditions may be affected by weather conditions ranging from rain or snow to excessive heat.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, paint, cleaners, and power machinery.
Work order requests may involve working in occupied or unoccupied guestrooms.
Will be required to be on call for emergency repairs/maintenance after normal work hours.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Handle guest maintenance issues, complaints, and requests and proactively resolves them in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and the hotel.
Coordinate with the General Manager the supervision of the day-to-day maintenance operations, scheduling and performing repairs that include and are not limited to:
plumbing, painting, carpentry, sheetrock repair, electrical, heating, air conditioning, and property upkeep.
Responsible to ensure Maintenance Requests, are completed accurately, meet the property's standard, and in a timely manner.
Physically walk and inspect property daily to determine potential liabilities.

Respond immediately to emergency situations.
Maintain a positive and progressive approach to hotel guest customer service.
Enhance customer service relations with thorough follow-up on all maintenance service requests and/or issues.
Oversee the timely and accurate completion of all delegated tasks.
Set a professional and courteous example in all hotel guest interactions.
Maintain the guest rooms, public space, and back of the house hotel areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, sheetrock repair, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and tiling to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Complete all tasks as designated by General Manager.
Assists in all areas of the hotel as needed.
Qualifications:
Must possess a basic knowledge of painting, electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock repair, appliance maintenance and repair, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, pool maintenance, and ability to use power machinery properly and safely.
Able to stand for at least 8 hours and the ability to maneuver or move upstairs heavy equipment, appliances, supplies, and tools that may weigh up to 50 pounds by him/herself, 100 pounds with someone.
Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull, and twist for the majority of the day.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow simple to moderately complicated verbal and/or written instructions to perform tasks assigned and maintain records.
Must possess basic arithmetical calculation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, etc.
) Be able to effectively communicate with hotel guests, staff, and other suppliers/vendors professionally to ensure the safe operation of property maintenance.
Have a thorough knowledge of basic carpentry skills, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Previous hotel or customer service experience is preferred, but not required Must be able to work with and secure sensitive and/or confidential material and information.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision, responding to and handling unfamiliar situations with little supervisory guidance.
Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills are required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate available guidelines and procedures, interpret precedents, and adopt standard methods or practices to meet variations in facts and/or conditions.
Must work well under pressure and remain calm during stressful situations.
Must possess solid organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously prioritize multiple priorities and/or projects in a fast-paced environment.
Work with multiple deadlines, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within the time frames allowed and changing priorities.
Be able to diagnose and repair equipment or appliances, which are not easily seen or reached, i.
