Operations Engineer III:
1400488 Description The Port Arthur Site operates both a world scale steam cracker and butadiene extraction unit.
The site also operates a pyrolysis gasoline unit, an indirect alkylation unit, an olefins conversion unit as well as a significant utility support system.
One of the worlds largest naphtha steam crackers with a joint venture partnership that includes BASF Corporation and Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA Inc.
It is located 15 miles east of Beaumont and Interstate 10 and 95 miles east of Houston.
This facility employees over 200 employees and we continue to grow.
Responsibilities:
:
Supports maintenance work and capital project work.
:
Leads the DOT in troubleshooting and plant problems and assist to maintain continuity between shifts by communication.
:
Coordinate and procure auxiliary chemicals as needed to meet plant section requirements.
:
Responsible to maintain compliance with the MOC process.
:
Ensures the environmental records/reporting is completed for compliance.
:
Participate in area Hazard Reviews to support the PSM process and PSSRs :
Supports and lead Operational Excellence projects and work process improvements :
Coordination and execution of special projects as assigned by Operations Manager.
Qualifications :
BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Required:

BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years professional experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations and/or Plant Engineering/Maintenance support.
:
Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills.
:
Strong planning and organization skills.
:
Good teamwork, strong initiative and technical skills.
