Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing various clinical laboratory procedures.
The Clinical Lab Scientist correlates and integrates other patient data and interprets test results; performs maintenance procedures on equipment; performs and interprets quality control/assurance procedures to ensure and evaluate the validity of patient results.
Requirements:
A.
Education/Skills 1.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.
1489 (includes Military Trained Schools) OR 2.
Education that has been evaluated by an acceptable credentialing agency and deemed equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree or applied Science degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
B.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications 1.
Preferred:
a) MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCPI), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), MT(HEW/HHS) OR qualified to sit for board exam within 1 year of hire.
C.
Experience 1.
New Graduate that is Board Certified or eligible (must complete Board Certification in 1 year of hire) AND laboratory training including either completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS, or other organizations approved by government where institution is located.
One year of clinical laboratory experience in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, serology and urinalysis/body fluids in the U.
S.
or with an accredited laboratory within the last 5 years or research focused experience at the University Level.
