Service System Specialist - Beaumont, TX - Carrier Corporation (Beaumont, TX)

- Complete all required commissioning documentation.
Maintains accurate As-Built drawing package - Completes paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense sheets, posting of service tickets and on-site documentation - Perform basic system checkout from controllers to sensors, loading software, interfacing with third party systems.
Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multimeters, decade boxes, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer - Responsible for set up of operator workstations with all associated software - Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised - Assists with turnover to service - Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Keeps customer informed on progress.
Reviews customer's systems and, if needed, points out areas of improvement and scope issues to Service account manager.
Keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issues.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines.
- Willingness to travel in excess of 50% of typical work week, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to create, download, and troubleshoot basic HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software.
- Communicates issues with Service Management on a timely basis.
- Working knowledge of Automated Logic hardware and WebCTRL software functions and utilities.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks including wireless technology, including layout and troubleshooting.
- Must be well organized with good time management and communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Experience with Microsoft software products to include:
Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Windows products when required.
- Possesses a general understanding of the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.
- Possess computer and networking skills to properly maintain a service laptop as well as experience in the commissioning of Ethernet and ARC Net communications.
- Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
Preferred
Qualifications:
' Associate's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Electronics, Computers, or 2
years experience in the HVAC controls industry.
' Field experience and a complete understanding of the installation and operation of Building Automated Systems ' Intermediate experience with Automated Logic software to include:
WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.
02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, and Supervision Physical
Qualifications:
' Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
